It’s no rumor, Reba’s back! For the second year in a row, Reba will be rocking the LP Field stage at the CMA Music Festival. And you can “Consider Me” there, ’cause “I Keep On Lovin’” Reba! Okay, enough with the puns…
If you were at last year’s Festival, you know that the first night’s concert was interrupted due to weather. Even with the impending storm, Reba — in an abbreviated set — went out and entertained her fans. This year we are all really excited to have her back.
In my count Reba has dazzled fans at ten past Festivals/Fan Fairs. She made her debut in 1976. Since then she has appeared in 1978, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1996, 2007 and 2009. This year marks her 11th appearance.
Although Reba attended seven Fan Fairs between 1976 and 1996, she managed to avoid our cameras. The first and only photo I found in our archive was this one from 1996.
After an 11-year absence, Reba made her return to the CMA Music Fest in 2007, with a surprise visit from friend and tour-mate Kelly Clarkson.
Before the storms prematurely ended Reba’s 2009 set, she also appeared on stage with friends and past touring buddies Brooks & Dunn for the trio’s Top-5 hit “Cowgirl’s Don’t Cry.” And she made a stop in the Fan Fair® Exhibit Hall earlier in the day to sign autographs and meet the fans!
For nearly 35 years the Red-headed Wonder has been entertaining crowds, churning out No. 1 hits (34 and counting), selling millions of records (55 million and counting), acting in films and television, charming Broadway critics and theatergoers, authoring books, and so, so much more. As one of the biggest superstars in the Country Music industry, there is no denying Reba’s influence and talent — talent she brings to CMA Music Festival Friday night, June 11!
I for one cannot wait to see Reba again. Let’s just hope that she is the biggest force of nature we have this year…
